David: What's going on?
Patrick: So I used to come on this hike a lot, when I first moved here, and I was, uh, I was developing feelings for this guy I had just gotten into business with. And I didn't know what to do about it because I didn't know if that guy had the same feelings. Or if I'd ever be able to muster up the courage to let him know how I felt. And now, here he is. The love of my life, standing in front of me. [David sobs] And this just felt like the perfect place to ask you to marry me.
David: [sobs] Wha- Are you sure?
Patrick: Easiest decision of my life.
David: [laughs; Patrick and David kiss] Are these 24-karat? It's a yes, it's a yes! I love you.

Patrick: David, I can't believe this is happening. I'm gonna keep this very short because I think you already know that I would climb a thousand mountains for you. So I'll just say this: you will always be a part of me. Patrick: So, why don't we start with the name of the business?
David: Oh, um, I'm oscillating between two names at the moment, so if we could just leave that one blank, that would be great.
Patrick: Sure, sure. Give you more time to oscillate. Um, business address?
David: Okay, so I'm working on that. Um, I'm currently staying in a motel, and I think it might be confusing if I gave you the address to another business.
Patrick: Y-Yeah, for sure. We'll leave that blank as well. Battin' a thousand here, David.
David: I don't know what that means.

Patrick: So I'm sensing some apprehension.
David: No, I think it's, you know, it's- It's not scary or embarrassing for the person you're dating to sing at you with an acoustic guitar in front of people. I think that's cool.
Patrick: David, you're gonna be fine. It's just a way to get some people in the store, okay?
David: Yeah. Yes, for sure. I mean, if you are, confident, to put yourself and our relationship at risk like that, then I am 87% behind you.
Patrick: Good to know. So now the only question is, do I wear my fringed vest?
David: Okay.
Patrick: Or more importantly, do I wear anything under it?

Patrick: You know, when you kissed me, that, that felt like my first time. All the things that you're supposed to feel, I- I felt them last night.
David: Well, if we're being honest with each other, this is sort of like my first time, too. I mean it's not, I've kissed like a thousand people but nobody that I cared about or respected or thought was nice. So in a way, it's like we're both starting something new.
Patrick: Thank you, David. And hey, for the record, I- I also respect you and think that you're a good person.
David: Hmm. It's just I said nice person.
Patrick: I know.
David: Oh. I just need you to say nice person.
Patrick: You're a good person.
David: That's not nice.

Patrick: All right, um, I would like to dedicate this song to a very special someone in my life. David Rose.
David: Okay.
Patrick: There he is, right there. That's him. Can't miss him.
Moira: You'll let me know if I should pull the fire alarm?
David: Yes.
Patrick: [playing guitar and singing "The Best" by Tina Turner]

David: Okay, you couldn't use anything I just said?
Patrick: I'll tell you what. Why don't you take these home with you, and just fill them out when you have a a clearer idea of what you want to do with your business.
David: Okay, um I do have a clear idea.
Patrick: Oh! You've settled on a name, then?
David: Um... You're either very impatient, or extremely sure of yourself.
Patrick: I threw you a bit of a change-up there, huh?
David: Yeah, again, I don't know what that means, I don't play cricket.
Patrick: [laughs] Look, take this, it's my card, and I feel like you will need it.
David: Uh, you know what, I think I'm good. Um, so thank you for this.
Patrick: It's nice to meet you, David.

David: This is the first gift I haven't bought myself in a very long time. So, thank you.
Patrick: You're gonna be so underwhelmed when you open it. Trust me. It's not- See. It's nothing.
Stevie: What is it?
Patrick: Uh, it's just the, um, receipt from our first sale at the store.
David: Um, this is not nothing. So, thank you.

Patrick: What you're doing is very brave.
David: Mm-hmm.
Patrick: Very generous, okay? And I don't wanna add more stress to your day, but I love you.
David: Okay, so so you just said that to me for the first time, knowing that it would make my day more stressful.
Patrick: That's correct.
David: Because you know that I've never said that to anyone else, aside from my parents twice, and one time at a-
Patrick: Mariah Carey concert, I know. Yeah. And I don't expect you to say it back to me, right now. You say it when you're ready. It just felt right to me, in the moment. You're my Mariah Carey.
David: Okay. That compliment could bring me to tears, but I'm not gonna let it. So, I... would like to thank you for all the wonderful things that you said.

Patrick: I'm tired.
David: Oh, okay. Well, you know what, we should probably get you over to the bed.
Patrick: Okay. You know what I really wanna do with you?
David: Uh-huh. Ethically speaking, I don't think we can do that with you in this state.
Patrick: Have a baby.
David: 'Kay, we will make a baby as soon as you sober up.
Patrick: Oh no, not make a baby. Have a baby. Like I wanna have like a little baby with you. And we could just love it and hold it and bounce it.
David: Yeah, that's a... that's a big one-eighty.
Patrick: You would be such a good dad.
David: Have we met?
Patrick: I wish you were my dad.
David: Okay, now we're just spiraling off in all directions.
