‘Graduation Day’

Season 4, Episode 24 -  Aired May 17, 2017

As Erica gets ready to graduate, it turns out Beverly isn't the only one afraid of what the future holds. Meanwhile, Barry tries to make the most of the time he has left with Lainey, and Adam is surprised when Dana returns to town.

Quote from Adam

Jackie: Oh, so, you can be weird around Dana, but I can't be weird around my ex?
Adam: I'm not worried about you being weird. I'm worried about you two still having a spark.
Jackie: I didn't say there was a spark.
Adam: It's Ruben Amaro Jr. Even I feel a spark when he walks by.

Quote from Geoff

Geoff: Don't you realize this is the last time we'll ever walk down this hallway together? Last time we'll ever reach your locker side-by-side? Last time I'll ever watch your nose crinkle as you spin that lock? Last time I overlook that you might be gross?

Quote from Beverly

Geoff: You okay?
Erica: I'm really not. I just realized my mom is amazing. I'm gonna miss her so damn much!
Geoff: What?
Erica: She's always been there for me. How will I survive without her?
Geoff: Maybe you should ask her.
Beverly: Don't be mad. I'm not here to bother you. I'm just subbing for Senora Gomez. But I did make you these marshmallow fudge chubbies. Adios, mija.
Geoff: So good.
Beverly: I know.
Erica: These are my last marshmallow fudge chubbies. God, I hate her so much for making me love her like this!

Quote from Bill Lewis

Bill Lewis: I can't believe my baby's going off to college in just a few days.
Barry: You mean a few months.
Bill Lewis: Uh, sure. Months. Not on Tuesday morning, before traffic gets bad.
Barry: What?
Bill Lewis: I didn't borrow my cousin Greg's flatbed truck. So, yeah, months.
Barry: It sounds like you borrowed your cousin Greg's flatbed truck 'cause my girlfriend is leaving on Tuesday.
Bill Lewis: You should talk to Lainey.
Barry: Lainey!
Bill Lewis: I didn't mean now.

Quote from Bill Lewis

Barry: What is this about you leaving in a few days?!
Principal Ball: Mr. Goldberg, could you please not interrupt our joyous ceremony?
Lainey: Oh, God. He knows I'm leaving early for Savannah. How does he know?
Bill Lewis: I'm sorry, baby! He got it out of me.

Quote from Erica

Principal Ball: Dang it! If you're not graduating, take a seat! Oh, crap! He's on the move!
Lainey: He's coming over. What do I do?
Erica: I don't know, man. I got a really deep emotional thing with my mommy going on. I'm, like, not okay in the head.

Quote from Barry

Principal Ball: Mr. Goldberg, you are not part of the processional. Do not process!

Quote from Lainey

Barry: This was supposed to be our Barry/Lainey Summer of Love Farewell Tour. Now it's done.
Lainey: I was gonna tell you at the graduation party 'cause I didn't want to ruin today, which is exactly what you're doing right now.
Principal Ball: Lainey Lewis.
Barry: Not the time, man!
Lainey: You know what? Maybe it's best I'm leaving early.
Barry: Maybe it is!
Lainey: [to Principal Ball, voice breaking:] Thank you so much. I'm very happy.

Quote from Erica

Murray: Take the diploma!
Erica: No.
Principal Ball: Come on. Come on. Come on.
Erica: Don't come at me with that diploma.
Principal Ball: You take this!
Erica: No!
Beverly: Fight it! Fight that diploma!
Principal Ball: Take this. You earned it.
Erica: Never!
Murray: No fighting, just graduating!
Principal Ball: Seriously, it's a great moment for you!
Erica: I will never graduate! You cannot force my life to start!

Quote from Adam

Adam: Isn't this awesome?
Dana: Yeah. I guess.
Adam: You just checked your watch instead of laughing hysterically at how tall Bubba Smith is. What's going on?
Dana: I don't get it. This is part 5. Shouldn't they have graduated the Academy after the first one?
Adam: I think the problem is you're focusing on logic, not the lovable cast of characters.
Dana: Okay, in what world would an officer of the law stop a jewel thief by making weird mouth noises?
Adam: That's Michael Winslow. He's a national treasure.
Dana: They're LAPD. They wouldn't have any jurisdiction in Miami.
