Quote from Barry

Barry: Mama, look! Your dear and aged friends are here of their own free will!
Beverly: Why, so they can say goodbye forever like everybody else? Sniffle, sniffle. I'm sorry, I would sniffle for real, but all the crying has left me stripped of my natural moistures.
Essie Karp: Actually, we're here to take you on a little pick-me-up power walk.
Barry: Fresh air, Mama. God's Renuzit.
Beverly: Well, I guess a little exercise might be a good thing.
Barry: There you go! Now hit the open road with these two tumbleweeds. Come on, off you go.

Quote from Barry

Barry: Mama! What are you doing?
Beverly: Oh, hey, boopie, I'm just getting a little power walk in.
Barry: It's just, Adam is graduating from high school right now.
Beverly: Oh, I don't know what you're talking about. If I'm not there, it couldn't possibly be happening.
Barry: Look, I know you're having a hard time right now, but you can't miss this. It's really important.
Beverly: What's important is I keep walking and no one grows up and no one ever leaves me and nothing ever changes.
Barry: But that's not how it works.
Beverly: Why can't it? Then my babies would still be here, and I wouldn't be completely clueless about what to do with the rest of my life.
Barry: I'll tell you what you're gonna do. You're gonna face it head-on. Might not always be easy. In fact, it... it might hurt sometimes, but you're so lucky, 'cause Adam? He's gonna miss you as much as you're gonna miss him.
Beverly: How do you know?
Barry: Because that's how I feel. Why do you think I'm always at the house?
Beverly: Groceries?
Barry: Obviously, but also because it's home. It's where you and Dad are. That will never, ever change.

Quote from Dave Kim

Adult Adam: [v.o.] The time to graduate was here, but my mom still wasn't.
Principal Ball: Welcome, students and families, to the graduation of the class of 198...[microphone feedback] If everyone would please take a seat, we will... commence. [Mr. Glascott laughs] Randall Henry Abington, come get your diploma.
Adam: What the hell, man? It's starting, and my mom is nowhere in sight.
Dave Kim: Mine is. [off Adam's look] What? Does everything have to be about you?

Quote from Adam

Principal Ball: Brea Bee! Come on down!
Brea: Sorry, Ad, kinda gotta do this.
Adam: At least try to stall.
Brea: Stall?
Adam: Vamp? Do a little soft shoe? Tell a story with your feet.
Principal Ball: Brea, I got a lot of names here. If you'd just put a little zip in your howdy.
Adam: He has no power over you anymore. You are molasses, baby.
Principal Ball: Let's go, youngsters.

Quote from Erica

Barry: Mama, you okay?
Beverly: [sighs] You know what? I am. I am. I know there's no more babies at home, but it's okay. I'm excited for what's next.
Erica: Yeah, Mom, about that...
Beverly: [chuckles] Oh, my God. You're not.
Geoff: What isn't she?
Erica: Actually, I am.
Beverly: [screams]
Geoff: Why is she screaming?
Erica: Geoff, we're having a baby.
Geoff: [screams] Really?! I'm gonna be a dad?
Erica: You're gonna be the best dad.
Pop-Pop: Mazel tov, kiddos.

Quote from Beverly

Beverly: My baby's having a baby! I'm gonna be a grandma! That's the most important person in a new child's life! [laughs]

Quote from Adam

Adult Adam: [v.o.] You know, my Pops once said, "Always bet on the side of love." I miss him every day, but he lives on, because like with all matters of the heart, he was right. That's just what my family does. We bet on love. And for the most part, it's worked out pretty great. Of course, looking back, every little detail may not have been exactly right. But there's one thing I am sure about... It was a day I would never forget. You know how it goes by now. It was 1980-something, the year I graduated high school, the year I became an uncle, and it was awesome.

Quote from Beverly

Beverly: Hurry up, I'm excited!
Adam: [o.s.] Just know I'm doing this as a graduation gift to you.
[Adam opens his bedroom door, he is wearing the "Train" sweater from his youth]
Beverly: [gasps] Holy [bleep]! An angel has fallen to earth and put on a sweater.
Adam: I immediately regret this.
Barry: Ha! Cool train, bro. That means you're a train lover.
Adam: It's open to interpretation!
Beverly: Oh, but wait, there's more.
Barry: Please say there's a hat.
Adam: You know there's a damn hat!
Beverly: For the kissy express, of course the conductor wears a hat. Chugga-chugga-schmoo-schmoo! Oh!

Quote from Barry

Adam: Sorry, it was just something I said to get you here.
Barry: Then who the hell am I here to meet and/or greet?
Adam: Me?
Barry: Worst day ever!

Quote from Beverly

Beverly: Trust me, I got this.
Adam: This is a surprisingly refreshing attitude that I will grasp onto.
Beverly: Now, stop worrying about me. Get on out there and live your young lives. Scoot! Move it! [chuckles]
[After Erica, Barry and Adam walk out, Beverly sits down in a chair and puts her feet up.]
Beverly: Welcome to the rest of your life, Beverly Goldberg. [chuckles]
Adult Adam: [v.o.] Yep, my mom had it all planned out. Until she found herself in an empty house, totally and completely alone.
Beverly: [bleep]!
