‘That '70s Finale’

Season 8, Episode 22 -  Aired May 18, 2006

It's New Year's Eve and everyone is ready to say goodbye to the '70s. Donna is keen to get away from Point Place before Eric returns home, while Kitty has second thoughts about moving to Florida. Meanwhile, Jackie and Fez are nervous about their first kiss.

Quote from Hyde

Hyde: Wait a second. Why are we wasting our time talking about this? Donna's leaving town, it's the end of the decade, we should be doing something awesome, man. Something we have never done before.
[circle:]
Hyde: Or this. [coughs]

Quote from Red

Kitty: Where's Eric?
Red: The genius missed his flight. I circled the airport so many times that my finger actually hurts from flipping people off.

Quote from Hyde

Red: Steven, here's a check for you. It's for all the rents you've paid over the years. I put it into a savings account so you'd have something to get you started.
Hyde: Whoa! This will buy me a monster bag of... marshmallows.

Quote from Hyde

Fez: Jackie wants our first kiss to happen somewhere romantic. I wish I could bring her here but this place is ruined. "Michael plus Jackie." It's like going on after Sinatra.
Hyde: Yeah, we've had some good times up here, man. My favorite thing was watching how people got down.
[montage of people falling off the water tower]
Fez: This is a dangerous spot.

Quote from Fez

Fez: Okay, Jackie. I think I figured out why we haven't been able to have our first kiss. We have too much history together. So, I thought that tonight it would be romantic if I rewrite some of that history. Look!
[Fez shines a spotlight on the water tower, where the graffito now reads "Michael + Fez"]
Fez: Oh, crap! It was dark.

Quote from Kitty

Hyde: Wow. Wine at 11:30, huh? Did you run out of bourbon?
Kitty: Well, I am just a complete wreck. I've decided I don't wanna leave Wisconsin.
Hyde: Did you tell Red?
Kitty: Well, I've been trying to but he's just, he's so excited about Florida. Oh, but I've been dropping hints. I told him that sunshine makes people whistle because I know how much he wants to punch those people in the face.

Quote from Fez

[Leo Sayer's "When I Need You" plays on the radio]
Jackie: I love this song.
Fez: Yes. It's perfect for our first real kiss. [Jackie giggles as Fez goes to kiss her] What? Stop it.
Jackie: You smiled first.
Fez: Well, I was thinking about Tootsie Rolls.
Jackie: Uh, Fez, we're forcing this. Our first kiss has to be romantic and spontaneous. And as a guy, it's your job to completely plan that out.
Fez: I hate being the guy. And not just because of this. The shoe selection is awful.

Quote from Hyde

Hyde: Oh, Mrs. Forman. I have here something that might make Red reconsider about moving.
Kitty: Oh, my God. Packers season tickets. Red has been on that waiting list forever.
Randy: Yeah, my grandfather was on that list for 30 years. When the tickets finally came he was 90 years old. He ate them.
Kitty: How did you get these?
Hyde: I used the cash that Red gave me.
Kitty: Oh, I would hug you, but I know you don't like that.
Hyde: Thank you.
Kitty: You're such a good boy. [hugs Hyde]
Hyde: All right, Mrs. Forman, that's enough.
Kitty: I'll say when we're done.

Quote from Kelso

Kelso: There you guys are.
Fez: Kelso!
Hyde: Hey, man, when did you get back?
Kelso: Man, come on. I'm not going to spend New Year's without my friends. Come on. Besides, it's like the turn of the century.

Quote from Kelso

Hyde: Hey, you guys. I just thought of the perfect way to put the '70s to bed. What do you say the three of us jump off this thing one last time together?
Kelso: You're reading my freaking mind.
Hyde: All right, you guys ready?
Kelso: Okay.
Hyde: One, two...
Kelso: Wait, wait. I know how this works. You're gonna say three and I'm gonna be the only one that jumps.
Hyde: Well, if it makes you feel any better, why don't you do the counting?
Kelso: [snaps fingers] Yeah, that way we all have to jump. All right. Here we go. One, two, three! [Kelso jumps]
