‘Everybody Hates Kwanzaa’
Season 3, Episode 10 - Aired December 10, 2007
When Julius doesn't get a Christmas bonus at work, he decides the family should celebrate a less commercial holiday: Kwanzaa. Meanwhile, Chris has an assignment to give back over the holidays, so he helps Kill Moves find a present for his mother.
Quote from Adult Chris
Adult Chris: [v.o.] Even though Christmas had passed, my parents wanted to let some of our old traditions live.
Chris: What's going on?
Julius & Rochelle: Merry Christmas!
Adult Chris: [v.o.] Fortunately, one of the day-after-Christmas traditions is that everything is 75% off.
Quote from Chris
Julius: Look, that may be true, but I'm talking about crops and fruits and vegetables.
Adult Chris: [v.o.] What comes from the Earth in Bed-Stuy are cigarette butts and crack vials.
Tonya: But we want toys, right, Chris?
Chris: Doesn't make much difference to me. I haven't gotten a present in four years. Maybe this year I can get some fruit.
Adult Chris: [v.o.] Judging from my luck during past holidays, I'll be getting some pits.
Quote from Tonya
Doc: Look, I got to go in the back. Holler if you need something.
Adult Chris: [v.o.] She needed something. She didn't holler.
Tonya: [takes a cassette player] Well, I'll see you later, Doc.
