‘A Change of Heart’
Season 6, Episode 18 - Aired February 28, 2011
After the gang get their hearts checked out, Barney must wear a heart monitor for a day. As things start to get serious with Nora, will Barney listen to his heart? Meanwhile, Robin starts dating a guy who acts like a dog.
Quote from Lily
Lily: Guys, I found this on the floor.
Ted: Oh, my God. Scooby ate the whole tray.
Marshall: [as Scooby Doo] Ruh-roh!
Ted: Wait. Where is he, anyway?
Lily: Oh, dude. Scooby got out!
Quote from Barney
[flashback to Nora and Barney out on the street:]
Nora: Here we are. I had a really great time tonight.
Barney: Yeah, me, too.
Nora: Do you want to come upstairs?
Barney: I'd love to. There's just one little thing, and it probably doesn't matter, but... I don't want to get married. I've been saying that all night just to get in your pants.
[Nora slaps Barney]
Barney: Whoa!
[present, in the doctor's office:]
[Lily slaps Barney]
Barney: Oh! Ahh! Can you believe...
[Dr. Kirby slaps Barney]
Quote from Marshall
Ted: [on the phone] Robin! Hey. Hey, um, remember Scooby? Uh, well, he got out.
Robin: "Got out"? What do you mean?
Ted: He just walked out of the apartment. Someone must've left the door open.
Marshall: [whispers] It wasn't me.
Lily: Me neither. [gasps] He must've figured out how to open it himself.
Ted: He's so smart. We should get him on Letterman doing tricks.
Marshall: I know Paul Schaffer's sandwich guy. This could happen.
Quote from Lily
Dr. Kirby: [to Barney] Okay. None of this suggests a systemic issue. Your heart's fine. With a healthy diet, you can live a long and happy life. If nobody stabs you.
Lily: Day's not over.
Quote from Barney
Barney: I mean, Nora's great. She's wonderful. But...
Lily: What time was your dinner reservation?
Barney: Last night? 8:30.
Lily: What did his heart do at 8:30?
Dr. Kirby: It... literally skipped a beat.
Lily: Your heart's talking to you, Barney. Do you have the guts to listen to it?
Quote from Barney
[Barney goes to the cafe where Nora and her parents are having brunch:]
Barney: I lied.
Barney: Barney.
Barney: When I said I lied, that was a lie, and I'm sorry.
Nora: I'm confused.
Barney: So am I. This, all of this, this is totally new to me, but I know it's what I want. I want to be confused. With you.
Nora: Mom, Dad, this is Barney.
Barney: Hi. I'm Barney. Great to meet you. Hey, you want to see a magic trick?
[As the camera pans out, we see Barney still standing at the door of the cafe. He never went inside to talk to Nora.]
Quote from Barney
Nora: So, how do you all know Barney?
Lily: Oh, I don't know how we know Barney. How does anyone know how they know anyone? [giggles nervously] I like your pretty hair, help me.
Marshall: We did not meet him at a strip club. No, sir. Because... Barney don't go to no strip clubs.
Nora: Oh, come on. Barney's been to a strip club once.
Ted: Once?
Barney: [under his breath] Thermos.
Ted: Nope. Not even once.
