After Robert takes a part-time job as an alarm salesman, he questions whether it's time to retire from the force.

Quote from Frank

Amy: I cannot believe this. Mom, it's not about the safety. It's about what Robert wants to do-
Pat: Sweetie, you're raising your voice. We don't do that.
Frank: Too late, lady. She's one of us now.

Quote from Frank

[Frank walks over to the panel and rips it off the wall, silencing the alarm]
Frank: Wow. That was easy. I should've married this.

Quote from Ray

Debra: Hi, Robert.
Robert: Look, I don't know if you got me anything for my birthday yet, but-
Ray: Well, I was gonna buy you a hat, but every time I told them your head size they'd hang up on me.

Quote from Marie

Amy: You'd better watch it, Frank. Robert's very persuasive. This is his fifth sale, and he's only been at it a week.
Robert: Actually, I had an interesting conversation with my boss today.
Ray: King Safe-N-Sound?
Robert: No, his son Ricky. He said he's looking for somebody full-time, and he would love for me to come aboard.
Marie: [excited] Really?!
Robert: Yeah, and I've been thinking about it. I don't know. What do you think?
Amy: You mean retire from the force?
Marie: Oh! Wonderful! Oh, Robbie, how long have I wanted to get you into a safe, normal job, honey? How long?
Robert: Oh, a long time, Ma.
Marie: Ooh, you know what I think? I want to have your birthday at our house this year. I'll make a big party.

Quote from Frank

Amy: Robert, I'm a little surprised to hear you talking about retirement.
Marie: Why? What do you mean?
Amy: Marie, I know the job can be dangerous. I want him to be safe, but I also want him to be happy. Robert, you love being a police officer.
Robert: Well, sure I do, sweetie, you know that. It's just- What does everybody else think?
Marie: I think you should retire now. I mean, we can't have policemen running around that are Frank's age.
Frank: I'll fight any one of you now.

Quote from Marie

Amy: Marie, you can say how you feel, but I'm also saying how I feel.
Marie: And you feel that Robert shouldn't listen to me.
Amy: Robert has been listening to you. I think maybe that's why he's talking about retiring so early, to make you happy.
Marie: That is not true. Is that true, Robbie? Tell her it's not true. Tell her right now. Tell her.

Quote from Marie

Amy: Robert, if you want to retire, retire. I want you to do whatever makes you happy.
Marie: I think retiring would make him happy. You know, there was a time when people cared about what I think.
Amy: You know, Robert, I think I want to have your birthday party at our place.
Robert: Um...
Marie: That's all right. That's all right. We'll have two parties: that one and the official one.

Quote from Ray

Ray: Oh, stupid idiot.
Debra: Well, what set it off this time?
Ray: I don't know. I think I put my socks on too loud. I can't believe you agreed to throw a birthday party for the guy who's ruining our lives.

Quote from Robert

Robert: It's not accepting my override code! I put in the code, it's-- [punches the panel]
Ray: Where's that in the manual?
Robert: You might want to call tech support and maybe get me a bucket of ice.
Ray: I didn't get robbed till I got an alarm.

Quote from Frank

Hank: That's what makes it so grand.
Pat: Yes, for you. And I go along with what you want, and I never say a word.
Frank: Take notes, Marie.
