‘Simon Says’

Season 5, Episode 21 -  Aired March 5, 1987

An esteemed marriage counselor, Dr. Simon Finch-Royce (John Cleese), tells Sam and Diane they are incompatible and should not get married.

Quote from Woody

Woody: Why, I thought the oldest trick in the book was the one where the guy tells you you got a spot on your shirt and then when you look down, bud-oom-- flicks you in the nose.
Cliff: Well, uh, Woody, you do have a spot on your shirt there.
Woody: Ah, no, no, no, no, no, Mr. Clavin. I'm not falling for that. I'm much too smart for you.
Cliff: Wait, no, no, Woody, Woody. You, you got a spot right there.
Woody: Yeah, yeah, right. You're not gone make me look like a dope.
[When Woody turns around, there's a large red stain on the front of his shirt]

Quote from Frasier

Frasier: Well, Diane, did you tell Simon all this?
Diane: No, I didn't. But I'm going to now. Come on, Sam.
Sam: We just came back from that hotel. I'm not going back there again.
Diane: Sam, this is a crucial point in our relationship.
Sam: Oh, I am starved. I haven't eaten all day. Come on.
Frasier: Uh, both of you, go to Finch-Royce. Tell him the truth. Let him make an accurate assessment of your relationship. You owe it to me. You owe it to him. And most of all, you owe it to yourselves. Now don't come back until you're fully satisfied. I don't care how long it takes.
Sam: All right, all right.
Diane: Right. Thank you. [both exit]
Frasier: Frasier Crane can play hardball, too.
