Gene: I'm sorry. The theater... She is a cruel mistress. You understand, right?
Frankie: No. No, I don't understand. My daughter is a person with hopes and feelings, and... [lowered voice] I was told everybody gets in.
Gene: It's true. All the kids get in. However, all the kids don't necessarily stay in.
Frankie: Well, you could have put that in the flyer. [sighs] Please. You don't get it. She never makes anything. You can't tell her this. She'll be crushed.
Gene: Oh, wow. You're right.
Frankie: That's why you should be the one to tell her.
