‘Thanks, but No Thanks’
Season 8, Episode 10 - Aired November 24, 1998
Jill encourages Tim to be supportive after Marty and Nancy break up, but the family is surprised when Tim invites Marty and the girls to move in with them.
Quote from Marty
Marty: Okay, so I'm a little bitter. I mean, it's easy for you to say. You've always been successful.
Tim: Easy for me to say? Martin, how about when Dad died? Was it easy for me taking care of everybody? How about working two jobs to get through college? How about raising three kids on a junior salesman's salary, huh?
Marty: Oh, well. Obviously, you can handle it and I can't!
Tim: That's not what I was saying.
Marty: No, you're more successful at your marriage!
Tim: I wasn't saying that, Marty!
Marty: You're more successful at your career.
Tim: Marty.
Marty: Now I find out you're better at raising my kids.
Quote from Tim
Marty: Nancy was right. You know, I'm never gonna get back on my feet. I'm just gonna go from one stupid job to the next.
Tim: They're not stupid jobs when you're... when you're using the money to support your family. You should be proud of that. That's a time when a lot of guys just cut and run. You're facing responsibilities. That's something to be admired. And I admire that. Come on. Let's eat something. Mom made a nice plate for you.
Marty: You brought the drumstick.
Tim: That's right, and the wing for you.
