‘Father Knows Less’
Season 1, Episode 3 - Aired October 8, 1993
After Alan wakes Cory up late at night to watch a baseball game, Cory falls asleep at school and fails a test. Mr. Feeny refuses to let Cory make up the test, leading to a disagreement between Alan and Mr. Feeny, who both believe they did the right thing.
Quote from Alan
Alan: I was thinking I'll go have a talk with Mr. Feeny. I'll explain it to him, get him to let Cory take a make up test.
Amy: Oh, I'm so glad. Because until you do, you're grounded.
Cory: Does that really work? Can she ground you?
Alan: In certain ways, yes.
Quote from Mr. Feeny
Cory: Hey, this is apple juice!
Mr. Feeny: Oh, gee, I must have left it in there too long.

Mr. Feeny: Mr. Minkus, this test didn't require an essay answer. But how refreshing that you've chosen to include one.

Cory: Is the test over? How'd I do?
Mr. Feeny: Looks like an A.
Cory: I got an A?
Mr. Feeny: No, A is the only answer you put down before you slipped into the coma.

Alan: Look, if it was up to me, you wouldn't have to sleep at all, you wouldn't have to go to school, I wouldn't have to go to work and we could just spend all our time together. And there's nothing I'd rather do.
Cory: Then why don't we do that?
Alan: I don't know. I guess the family's gotten used to eating.

Mr. Feeny: There was a version of a sneaker available, but it was made out of recycled tyres and left black marks on the gym floor.
Cory: Hey, you took gym?
Mr. Feeny: They made me.
