Quote from Adult Dean
Mr. Brady: You put your foot in this meal, Lillian.
Lillian: Well, wait until you try a little bit of Vivian's peach cobbler. It'll change your life.
Vivian: Mm-hmm. And that's how I locked Cliff down.
Coach Long: Now, I was on the make. That should let you know how good that cobbler is. [laughter]
Mr. Brady: Well, I'm grateful for the invitation and the hospitality.
Bill: Our pleasure. I know firsthand how important it is to keep students motivated, so keep doing what you're doing.
Adult Dean: "Keep doing what you're doing"? We just talked about this!
Quote from Lillian
Lillian: And we've learned that if we want to make a change, we have to be subtle and strategic.
Dean: Interesting point, Mom. Continue.
Lillian: Speak when spoken to. Did he get into the whiskey sours?
Quote from Coach Long
Coach Long: No, Bill is right. D-Don't be afraid to speak your mind.
Lillian: Like you do when Mr. Davidson's always asking you to work through lunch to help him finish his reports?
Coach Long: Well, who needs 30 minutes for lunch?
Quote from Dean
Coach Wright: It's time for the final three questions of the round. "The bacteria causing leprosy directly damages what protective sheathing around nerve cells?" [ding]
Cory: It's mitochondria.
Karen: You mean myelin.
Cory: No, Karen. Dean, it's mitochondria, man.
Keisa: Dean, Karen's right. I think it's myelin, too.
Coach Wright: Five seconds, Jefferson Davis.
Brett: Come on, Dean.
Cory seemed confident, and so did Karen, but I picked Cory's answer last time, and I really wanted to be fair, but I also wanted to win, in a fair way. Win with fairness. [buzzer]
Coach Wright: Time's up. Stonewall Jackson Junior High?
Boy: [quietly] Is myelin right? Myelin? Myelin.
Coach Wright: That is correct.
Adult Dean: My way wasn't working.
