‘The Drop Off’

Although Axl was hoping for a quiet getaway with Mike, Frankie is determined that the entire family will drop Axl off at college. Meanwhile, Sue waits to hear whether she will be a mentor again this year, and Brick is given a new cellphone to keep in touch with his brother.

Sue: [squeals] I got it! I am the 2013-2014 Junior Peer Leadership Adviser!
Frankie: Honey, that is so great.
Mike: So they must've liked that essay.
Sue: Oh, turns out they didn't even read it. Nancy Seifried was hiding a teen pregnancy, and Karen Frick went into a depression because her parents got a divorce! I am walkin' on air! [laughs] Whoo! Yeah!

[As the family get out of the car and walk towards the house, Brick drops his cellphone again]
Mike: Okay, that's it. This thing is mine.
Brick: I completely get it, Dad. Smartest decision you've made all day.
Mike: Brick, this isn't even your phone. Where'd you get this?
