‘Exes and Ohhhs’

Season 8, Episode 17 -  Aired March 14, 2017

When Axl goes to a St. Patrick's Day party to see Lexie, he runs in to his ex-girlfriends Devin, Cassidy and Weird Ashley. Meanwhile, Brick buys an old microfiche machine from the library, and Sue asks Tyler to go to the Chancellor's Ball with her.

Quote from Sue

Lexie: Wow, I can't believe you're going to the Chancellor's Ball.
Sue: I know. It's like the only perk of being a Dragonette tour guide. Well, besides the mini-flashlights. So, I bit the bullet and asked Tyler to take me.
Lexie: Ooh. Are things heating up between you two?
Sue: I don't know. I think so. I mean, tonight he took me to the garage where they keep the carts.
Lexie: Ah.
Sue: There's all these plugs, and you can hear everything charging. It's more romantic than it sounds.
Lexie: Wow, that's great!
Sue: I don't know. We just started dating, and the ball is such a big deal. I hope it's not too soon.
Lexie: No, the man showed you his cart garage.
Sue: That is true.

Quote from Axl

Cassidy: It's been great catching up, Axl. If you're in Italy this summer, look me up.
Axl: I will! It's the one that's shaped like a boot, right? [Cassidy laughs]

Quote from Axl

April: Axl, I know we're supposed to go out for dinner, but I didn't eat anything at noon, so could we go out for lunch instead? It's not healthy to skip meals.
Axl: Yeah, listen, April, we need to talk. Um... I've been feeling really conflicted lately. I feel like things have been weird between us since the annulment. But I'm 22, and I just don't feel ready to settle down just yet. Even though I know we already did. Before, I would've just let things keep doing what they're doing. But it's just not fair, you know? Like, if I feel like we don't have a future together, I should just be clear and say what I mean. And what I mean is... [sighs] We should break up.
April: Wow. I guess the first clue should've been when we got divorced.
Axl: Yeah, well, that was one.
April: So, then, did you ever love me?
Axl: Yes! Of course. And some part of me always will.
April: Just not enough to date me. [sighs] It's fine. I get it. You don't have to hit me over the head to let me know stuff. I don't want to make a scene, so I'll just go.

Quote from Sue

Axl: What the hell are you doing?
Sue: Aunt Edie's car died and I gotta get to Orson!
Axl: Uh, kinda in the middle of something here, Sue!
Sue: I gotta talk to Sean! Now stop distracting me! This is like driving a whale!
Axl: You ever heard of a phone? Just call him.
Sue: He's not answering and I gotta catch him before he goes back to Notre Dame!
Axl: Okay, let me drive.
Sue: No, you'll stop! Every second counts!
Axl: At least let us out!
Sue: No, I'm not stopping till I get to Orson!

Quote from Sue

Sue: Mrs. Donahue! Mrs. Donahue! Is Sean here?
Nancy: Oh, no, I'm sorry, Sue. He left for Notre Dame hours ago. Don't you look beautiful! Wait. Aren't you supposed to be at a ball?
Sue: Yeah, well, the situation kind of changed.
Nancy: Oh, honey. Do you still need a date? Ron can take you. Ron!
Sue: No, I'm good. I'm good.
Nancy: You sure? I was a little worried when you pulled up in such a hurry.
Sue: Yeah. Well... I was just chasing something that probably wasn't even really a thing. I'm fine. I'm fine, really.

Quote from Sue

Frankie: [v.o.] So, Sue rejected one prince and chased down another. And although she didn't get to go to the ball with either of them, the unlikeliest of princes came to her rescue.
Axl: Cool! Open bar! You ever tasted a Creamsicle margarita?
Sue: Ooh.
