‘Big Daddy's Little Lady’

Season 2, Episode 6 -  Aired November 15, 1986

Blanche is concerned when her father, Big Daddy, comes to town with his young fiancee. Meanwhile, Dorothy and Rose try to write a song about Miami.

Quote from Rose

Rose: And once, in grade school, I crossed a rutabaga and a potato, but I couldn't decide whether to call it a "rutatato" or a "potatobaga".
Dorothy: Yeah, you'll have to excuse Rose. That hose dance brings up a lot of childhood memories.

Quote from Rose

Rose: Dorothy, I'm telling you, we're doing great. The song will be fine. We just need to find a rhyme for "orange". What rhymes with "orange"?
Dorothy: Cheesecake?
Rose: "Orange cheesecake". "Orange cheesecake". I suppose that could work.
Dorothy: I meant to eat, Rose.

Quote from Rose

Dorothy: Blanche, listen, if you go over there angry, you'll just make things worse.
Blanche: I'm sorry, but I have to say what I feel.
Rose: "I have to say what I feel." [singing] I have to say what I feel
Dorothy: Miami has so much appeal
Rose: A great place to get a seafood meal
Dorothy & Rose: Miami.
Dorothy: Simon?
Rose: Yes, Garfunkel?
Dorothy: To the eighty-eights.

Quote from Blanche

Margaret Spencer: I'm sorry.
Blanche: Oh, It's all right. I was just leaving. Only, I want to say something to you first, Margaret.
Margaret Spencer: What is it, Blanche?
Blanche: Well, looks like you and I have more in common than we thought. We both love Big Daddy and want him to be happy, so welcome to the family.

Quote from Blanche

Blanche: Well, according to Big Daddy, he still has both his feet on the ground.
Sophia: I gotta hand it to you, Blanche, you handled it better than I thought you would.
Blanche: Oh, well, to tell you the truth, I'm not thrilled, but as long as they're in love and happy, and I don't have to call her Mommy, I can live with it.

Quote from Dorothy

Blanche: How did you do?
Rose: We came in second.
Blanche: Oh, that's terrific.
Blanche: What did you get?
Dorothy: Treated badly. They told us to get out of the way when they took the winner's picture with Anita Bryant.
Blanche: Oh, what do those old judges know?
