‘Sunrise, Sunset’

Season 6, Episode 10 -  Aired March 10, 2020

Moira's former Sunrise Bay producer Tippy Bernstein (guest star Saul Rubinek) and co-star Clifton Sparks (guest star Victor Garber) visit Schitt's Creek with a proposal for her. Meanwhile, Alexis goes on a Sunrise Bay binge watch, and Johnny struggles to find the money to fix up the new motel and cater David's wedding.

Quote from Moira

Tippy Bernstein: And he said...
Clifton Sparks: I said, I wouldn't do it without you. And that was before Nicole Kidman signed on as Adriana's daughter.
Moira: Nicole Kidman. And I was believing you both up till now.
Tippy Bernstein: No, no, no. M-Moira this is all true.

Quote from Moira

Tippy Bernstein: Oops, oops. What do we have here? What is that? Is this maybe a very generous offer for a direct to-series prime-time Emmy contender. Have a read. Have a read of that and then maybe meet up with us later tonight?
Clifton Sparks: We can celebrate over drinks.
Moira: I don't know what to say.
Clifton Sparks: It's a simple answer, Vivian. Say yes.

Quote from Johnny

Johnny: Good news, Stevie, I think I may have found someone who can do the fumigation for half the price. His name's Phil. He's got a lot of two-star reviews, but that's one more star than the other guys.
Stevie: Will the savings cover the cost of rebuilding the foundation?
Johnny: No. No they won't. So I guess the news isn't that good after all.

Quote from Johnny

David: Okay. I know what's going on.
Johnny: You do?
David: Yeah, and don't worry, you don't have to cover the cost of the extra table. That's eight plates than you hadn't budgeted for. Plus, Patrick's parents ended up giving us way more money than we had expected.
Johnny: Oh.
David: Yeah. Apparently there is some nest egg they set aside for Patrick and his ex-fiancée. So honestly you have to pay for anything if it's going to be a strain.
Johnny: David, I said I would cover the food...
David: Okay.
Johnny: But if the Brewers wanna pay for the extra table, then uh, I think that's a wonderful gesture form the Brewers.
David: Great. What did I tell you about that beef?
Johnny: Oh, good.

Quote from Moira

Clifton Sparks: Oh, Moira, get over it! Contract negotiations go sour all the time!
Moira: What do you know about my contract?
Clifton Sparks: What?
Tippy Bernstein: I believe I gave you a new contract today. Did you- Did you bring it?
Moira: Clifton...
Clifton Sparks: Hm?
Moira: There are fans who think that you might have had something to do with my being written off the show.
Clifton Sparks: [laughs] What?! Who? Why would... ? Look, Moira, there were a lot of egos back then, and I was different man. That was before my liver transplant.
Moira: Is it true?
Clifton Sparks: Think of it as a compliment. Your star was rising, and I was maybe jealous.

Quote from Roland

Stevie: Well, apologies for calling such a late meeting but I think you'll both agree we're in a bit of a situation.
Roland: And by "situation" he means that money-pit of a motel we bought.
Johnny: No, I stand by the decision to expand our business but at this point, I think our only option is to sell the second motel, and recoup whatever we can.
Roland: Yeah, and I'm in total agreement.
Stevie: Well, I don't like that idea.
Roland: I don't like that idea at all. What else you got, Johnny?

Quote from Moira

David: Will you be trapped in this crystal the entire episode?
Moira: Best to skip ahead.

Quote from Moira

Alexis: So how was the meeting?
Moira: You, Alexis, are one shrewd little Reynard. You were right about Clifton.
David: He sucks in this, by the way.
Alexis: So he had you written off the show?
Moira: Yes, but I used that little nugget to negotiate a superior deal.
Alexis: Hm?
Moira: I am after all, the one in the cast member still making headlines.
