Patrick: I didn't want it to affect what we have. Okay? And I mean it when I tell you that you have nothing to worry about. 'Cause no matter how hard I tried with her, it just never felt right. And up until recently, I didn't understand why. David, I've spent most of my life not knowing what right was supposed to feel like, and then I met you. And everything changed. You make me feel right, David.
David: That is quite possibly one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard anyone say. Um, outside of the "Downton Christmas Special".
Patrick: It's the truth.

David: Like they know about "us", right?
Patrick: Okay. Listen, David. I've have been wanting to tell them about us. I really have, I just was waiting to do it in person, and then I didn't go home for the holidays, and then I was feeling so comfortable with you, and your family.
David: Yeah. Yeah, I-I don't know why I assumed, um... So all this time, your parents thought they were just talking to your your business partner?
Patrick: Okay. David, I know my parents are good people, I just... [emotional exhale] Hmm, I can't shake this, this fear that there is a small chance that this could change everything. That they might see me differently, or treat me differently.
David: Uh-uh.
Patrick: But I'm gonna deal with this as soon as I see them next, okay?
David: Okay, what you're dealing with is very personal. And something you should only do on your terms. Okay? That's why I brought this couple home one day in college, and just told my parents to deal with it.

Moira: Patrick, do you take David to be your lawfully wedded husband?
Patrick: I do.
Moira: And David. [voice breaks, shouts] David, do you take Patrick to be your lawfully wedded husband?
David: I do.
Moira: I now pronounce you husband and husband. You may kiss each other.

Moira: You and Patrick are two good grapes. Different notes, different tannins, but... together, you've managed to make one perfect blend.
David: Thank you.
Moira: That being said...
David: Oh my God.
Moira: If I may impart a slice of marital sagacity: you and I, we're two potent grapes. You know, there's a lot of your father in Patrick.
David: Don't need that.
Moira: But just because their notes are subtle doesn't mean they require any less attention.
David: Says the woman who literally convinced me to leave my partner alone at home, watching a baseball game.
Moira: You know I'm right. Your father and I have produced beautiful wine together for over forty years.
David: Ew.
Moira: And I have absolutely no doubt that your relationship with Patrick is going to get even better with age.

Patrick: Well, there's something that, uh, that I've been meaning to tell you.
Marcy: You can tell us anything.
Clint: Honey, let's just let him talk.
Patrick: Uh, yeah. So I guess this doesn't really come naturally. Um... David-
Marcy: He seems like a really great partner, honey.
Clint: Marcy.
Marcy: In business.
Patrick: Yeah, he is. He's also a great partner outside of business. We're together. David is my boyfriend. And I've never been happier in my life. And so I just, I hope you guys can accept that.
Marcy: Ohh! You are the only thing in the world that matters to us. And if David makes you happy, then that's all we care about.
Patrick: Dad?
Clint: I like him. I like him a lot.
Patrick: Me too.
Clint: I don't understand his clothes, but... [all laugh]
Patrick: Ah, you will in time. Oh man, I didn't know how I was gonna tell you guys.
Marcy: Well, we're just glad you finally did. Happy birthday, my sweet boy.
Patrick: Thank you.

Patrick: How'd it go with Ted?
David: [kisses Patrick] I love you. [holding back tears]
Patrick: I know I'll never be able to compete with Mariah.
David: Mm.
Patrick: It just kind of feels like one of those perfect moments that you dream about. Except in my dream, I'm holding a nice cup of tea.
David: Oh, fuck.
Patrick: I'm kidding. I don't need the tea.
David: No, I am making this perfect moment, perfect.

Patrick: Mr. Rose, I don't wanna cut you off, but um... [clears throat] I'm glad we have a minute to talk. Because I, I hope it goes without saying that, as lucky as I feel to have met David, I also feel incredibly lucky to be joining your family. I love your son and I will always do everything I can to respect him and to protect him from all of the things in life that can set him off. And there are many, many things that can set him off...
Johnny: [laughs] Oh, I'm aware, yeah. Um... oh boy, that... pretty much covers it. Uh, I was only gonna say that I... I hope you treat him with... respect, which you just said you would, and, of course... I already knew it.
Patrick: I'm glad we had this talk, Mr. Rose.
Johnny: Me too. Me too.
Patrick: All right.

David: Well, that was a fun night.
Patrick: I'm really glad that I decided to invest in your business, David.
David: That is really lovely thing to say.
Patrick: "And I'm so glad you did, Patrick, because you've really helped to turn it into the success that it is."
David: Hmm. A bold claim. [David kisses Patrick]
Patrick: Thank you.
David: For what?
Patrick: Um, I've never done that before with a guy.
David: Okay.
Patrick: Yeah. And uh, [chuckle], I was getting a little scared that I was gonna let you leave here without us having done that. So, uh, thank you for, um, making that happen for us.

Patrick: Okay, David, well I'm gonna go to dinner, and if you wanted to join me, and pay for it, that could be a start.
David: Yeah, maybe I could do that. Uh, I just think I have something to do first, so...
Patrick: What is this?
David: Consider this my olive branch. [David dances and lip syncs as Tina Turner's "The Best" plays]

David: Have I ever told you how sexy it is to walk in here and see you doing, um, inventory? And wearing those little rubber thimbles on your fingers?
Patrick: They help me flip the pages easier.
