‘Mr. Monk and His Biggest Fan’

Season 6, Episode 1 -  Aired July 13, 2007

Monk's biggest fan, Marci Maven (guest star Sarah Silverman), bids for him at a bachelor auction after her dog is implicated in a murder.

Quote from Marci Maven

Adrian Monk: Ladies, let's settle down. I think we might have an actual murder on our hands.
Marci Maven: Oh, woo-hoo!
Adrian Monk: Exactly. Woo-hoo. Let's just think for a minute, okay? Tell me about the dog. How did he die?
Marci Maven: Kidney failure. He went really quickly.
Adrian Monk: Before he passed, did anything unusual happen?
Marci Maven: Oh, yes! About two weeks ago, he disappeared for a whole day. I couldn't find him. I was worried sick. I was putting up posters everywhere. And then around 6:00, he just showed up.
Adrian Monk: And you have no idea where he was?
Marci Maven: No. He was covered in woodchips, though. Is that important? It took me an hour to brush it out.
Natalie: You still have the brush?
Marci Maven: The brush? [chuckles] Please.
Adrian Monk: Actually, that's a good idea.
Marci Maven: I'll get it.

Quote from Marci Maven

Adrian Monk: It's teak. Mahogany. Lumber yard. [Marci gets excited] Oh, no.
Marci Maven: We have to now. It's tradition. [hugs Monk]

Quote from Adrian Monk

Adrian Monk: It's John Ringel. That's the guy. That's the husband.
Marci Maven: Oh, yeah, he owns a lumber yard. I forgot.
Adrian Monk: You forgot?! How could you forget?! We've been checking lumber yards all day!
Marci Maven: I'm sorry. I wasn't thinking. I'm not a perfect person. I need a hug.
Adrian Monk: No, no more hugs.

Quote from Lieutenant Disher

Lieutenant Disher: [answers phone] Disher.
Captain Stottlemeyer: Randy, meet me at 420 Vinton Street. It's a lumber yard it's owned by John Ringel. Chop chop.
Lieutenant Disher: Who's John Ringel?
Captain Stottlemeyer: As of ten minutes ago, he's a murder suspect. Monk is there now. I think he might be in trouble.
Lieutenant Disher: I'm on my way. [blocks fall]
Captain Stottlemeyer: You still playing that stupid game? Randy? Randy?
Lieutenant Disher: No.
