Claire feels bad when Phil showers her with great gifts on their anniversary, so she arranges a private performance of "their song" by the musician Izzy LaFontaine. Meanwhile, Cameron and Mitchell reunite with their old party friend, Sal, who's having trouble adjusting to them as parents.

Quote from Phil

Claire: Yes, he does know the band. 'Cause this is our song. You love this song. Tell him this is our song. Right. Tell him, Phil.
Phil: It's not our song, Claire. Our song is "If You Leave" by Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark.
Izzy LaFontaine: Oh!
Claire: Are you sure?
Phil: Pretty sure. I sang it at our wedding.
Claire: Oh, I'm an idiot.
Izzy LaFontaine: Well, actually, he's the idiot. He fell in love to a break-up song.

Quote from Phil

Claire: I hate this. I hate this. You're so sweet and nice, and I can't even give you a decent anniversary present. I love you so much, and I feel you just are never gonna know it.
Phil: I know it. I know it. Yes.
Claire: You do know it? You do?
Phil: And this is an awesome gift. You know why?
Claire: Why?
Phil: You just gave us a new song.
Claire: Okay.
Izzy LaFontaine: Sort of brought you back together, eh? Seems.
Phil: Sort of. Yeah.
Izzy LaFontaine: Rekindled fires of a dying passion?
Phil: Sure.
Izzy LaFontaine: Shot a ray of 'ope into this gloomy suburban lie?
Phil: All right, buddy.
Claire: Just play it, lzzy.
