‘Three Days Of Snow’
Season 4, Episode 13 - Aired January 19, 2009
When a three-day blizzard hits New York, a tradition of Marshall and Lily's is threatened. Meanwhile, Ted and Barney get to open a bar when they're given the keys to MacLaren's.
Quote from Lily
Lily: Hey, hey, hi. We called earlier about the Seattle microbrew.
Ryan: Oh, yeah, good thing you called when you did. I was getting ready to close up. Storm of the century out there. Of course, it's only '09, so storm of the century might be a little bit premature. Let's say storm of the year. Although, it is only January.
Lily: We're in kind of a hurry, so, we'll take the beer now.
Ryan: You are a cute couple.
Ranjit: Thank you.
Lily: We're not a couple.
Ryan: Thank God. That would be weird.
Quote from Marshall
Marshall: Robin, I'm sorry. You're not a robot. If you are, you're, like, an incredibly advanced model, and the human race doesn't stand a chance.
Quote from Robin
Marshall: You just don't choose to show your love through corny rituals, and that's fine. But maybe the reason Lily and I do is because we always have, and we don't know any other way. One thing I do know is that if she's there sitting at the airport alone, I have to go get her. Those are the rules.
Robin: Marshall, close your eyes.
Marshall: I don't know how you heard any of that as me hitting on you, but..
Robin: Just do it. [Robin opens the sun roof. A covering of snow falls into the car] Now let's go get your woman.
Quote from Ted
Ted: Come on, Barney. We said no last call. We've got to mean it.
Barney: Well, what are we supposed to do? Carl's going to be here any minute.
Ted: Only one thing we can do.
[cut Ted and Barney in the apartment, which is filled with drunk customers:]
Ted: Dude, running a bar is a pain in the ass. We should just stick with what we know.
Barney: Uh-uh. We should start a band.
Ted: Of course we should start a band! How have we not started a band yet?
Quote from Future Ted
Future Ted: [v.o.] Kids, sometimes in life, the planets align, everything links up, and your timing is perfect.
Lily: Marshall?
Marshall: Lily?!
Lily: Marshall?
Marshall: Lily?
Future Ted: [v.o.] This wasn't one of those times.
Quote from Marshall
Future Ted: [v.o.] Like I said, this was a three-day storm. So on Tuesday when Marshall heard that message...
Marshall: She's not coming in till Thursday. I mean, we came all the way down here, and she's not coming in till Thursday. I feel so stupid. Look, let's just, let's not tell Lily about any of this, okay? Especially the part about you hitting on me.
Robin: I didn't hit on you.
Marshall: Exactly.
Quote from Marshall
Future Ted: [v.o.] Then on Wednesday...
Ted: Oh, man. I can't believe you drove all the way out there. Now you're just going to turn around and drive all the way out there again tomorrow.
Marshall: Yeah, no. Um, this whole thing was a sign, you know? It's time to put that old ritual to bed. I'm not going to pick her up.
Ted: Robin really hit on you?
Robin: Dude, it was weird.
Quote from Barney
Ted: Puzzles.
Melissa: That is a great band name. Hey, have you seen Amanda?
Barney: [enters] Bingo!
