Quote from Randy

Randy: See you, Mom. We're going to the mall to get some shoes.
Jill: Oh, good. Now, listen, I need to get a pair for Mark. I'd do it myself, but I'm swamped.
Randy: Come on. Lauren and I don't want Mark hanging out with us.
Lauren: Hey, come on, Randy. It's OK. It's no big deal.
Randy: On the other hand, Mark can be fun. Come on, buddy.

Quote from Tim

Jill: Okay. So I gotta practice for my thing tonight.
Tim: Well, get upstairs and work hard on that thing. It'll pay off. [off Jill's look] Not a clue.

Quote from Randy

Randy: I like the tan. [to Lauren] What do you think?
Mark: I like the tan.
Randy: Why don't you go pick out something in the Buster Brown section.

Quote from Randy

Lauren: Well, I better go. I promised my parents I'd be home by five. It was kind of fun hanging out, though.
Randy: Yeah, it was.
Lauren: Hey, maybe next time you can help me pick out some earrings at the jewelry store.
Randy: The jewelry store. Yeah. I thought we'd pick out a lot more shoes first.
Lauren: Right. Bye.

Quote from Randy

Eric: Hey! You just stepped on my new shoes!
Randy: Oh, sorry.
Eric: No, see, I don't like it when people step on my shoes.
Randy: Well, me either. Which is why I feel your pain.
Eric: Pain... What is that, a joke?
Randy: Well, not if you don't want it to be.

Quote from Tim

Tim: It's not like he came up behind somebody. He was defending Randy.
Jill: Well then he should've done what I've always told him to do in this situation.
Mark: And what's that?
Jill: Find an adult.
Mark: And what if there isn't one around?
Jill: Run away.
Tim: Run away? Forget karate. Next year you're taking track.

Quote from Randy

Randy: Hey, Brad. Chad and Kevin found out about what happened at the mall. I mean, how did they know? It's not like it's in the school paper.
Brad: [pulls out the paper] Alan Bishop's column. "The other day at the mall, I spied freshman Randy Taylor shaking in his boots. Senior Eric Zumbrum was threatening Taylor when he was saved by his little brother, name unknown." [Lauren laughs down the hallway] Oh, man, Lauren's reading the article.
Brad: So, what are you gonna do?
Randy: [sighs] I don't know. I need a quiet place to reflect on the matter. [climbs inside his locker]

Quote from Brad

Tim: "And then like a simpering coward, Randy Taylor ran off with his tail between his legs."
Jill: This is awful. I mean, half the school must be making fun of him.
Brad: Half would be a conservative estimate.

Quote from Tim

Brad: I can't believe you don't care that everybody thinks you're a wimp.
Jill: He's not a wimp. You know, he just feels good enough about himself, he doesn't worry about what others think.
Tim: That's right. I wish I were as mature as he was at that age. Or at this age.
