Although Diane plans to spend Thanksgiving at the home of her literature professor, she talks Carla into opening her home up to the gang from Cheers.

Diane: So, what's everybody else doing?
Cliff: [overlapping] Oh, the holidays just kind of snuck up...
Norm: My mother-in-law...
Diane: Yeah, that sounds like fun, too.
Quote from Sam
Woody: You know, the important thing is that you're here now, huh? We're all here. This is gonna be the greatest. Who needs family?
Frasier: You know, Woody, you're right. Family is not necessarily limited to blood relations.
Cliff: That's right. Uh, this is much better than, uh, hangin' around with a bunch of dingbat cousins all day long that you don't get to see but once a year, huh?
Sam: Yeah, or waiting for some duddy old aunt to show up [doorbell rings] and spoil all your fun.
[Carla opens the door]
Diane: Gobble, gobble!
[Carla slams the door]
