‘I Call Your Name’

Season 3, Episode 3 -  Aired October 18, 1984

Frasier turns to Sam for help when the girlfriend of a "patient" called out someone else's name in bed. Meanwhile, Cliff turns in a fellow postal worker for stealing a fragrance sample.

Quote from Cliff

Sam: Hey, Cliff, you want to spend the night in my office?
Cliff: [chuckles] Oh, Sammy, you still think I'm afraid, don't you?
Sam: Yumpin' yimminy, no.
Cliff: Yeah, that Swedish accent was just for the amusement of the bar. Yeah, I don't care if Lewis finds out it was me. In fact, if I ever see the guy again, I'll tell him it was me and clear the air.
[Cliff squeals as Lewis enters the bar]
Lewis: You're the man I'm looking for. [Cliff squeals again] I've been fired!
Cliff: [sobs] I'm sorry! I'm sorry. Oh, God, I'm terribly sorry.
Lewis: Hey, you're taking this worse than I am. I just want to find out who did it.

Quote from Cliff

Cliff: Well, sorry I can't help you out there, Lewis.
Lewis: Yeah, you can. You know how you're always stick your nose in people's business at the post office?
Cliff: Well, I...
Lewis: Come on, you're nosy!
Cliff: That's me.
Lewis: Well, I want to know who did it. And I want to find out tomorrow.
Cliff: OK, you got it, pal.
Lewis: Be here at 7:00 and don't be late.
Cliff: Okay, well, you just be here at 7:00 and don't be late cos I'll have that information.
Lewis: I know you will.
Cliff: Uh, Lewis? Thanks for thinking of me.

Quote from Carla

Cliff: Tomorrow I die.
Sam: Come on, now.
Cliff: Oh, the guy is going to beat the living hell out of me. It's no use saying I don't deserve it though, huh?
Carla: Nobody did.
Cliff: Thanks, Carla.

Quote from Coach

Carla: Coach, let's go home.
Coach: Yeah. Carla, can I play my French language tapes on the way home, please?
Carla: No. We hear them every night and I'm sick of it. Besides, they're not doing you any good.
Coach: Oh, yes, they are.
Carla: Oh, yeah? Say "How are you today?" in French.
Carla: [French accent] How are you today? In French.
Carla: I rest my case.
Coach: [French accent] I rest my case.
Carla: Knock it off.
Coach: [French accent] Knock it off.

Quote from Frasier

Frasier: Well, I'd better go. I'm late for my marital relations group. And, thanks. I'd like to apologize to you both for flying off the handle. It just goes to show you that even psychiatrists get the blues. Diane, see you later. Oh, and Sam?
Sam: Yeah?
Frasier: Go Red Sox.
Sam: Ra!
