Season 2, Episode 17 -  Aired February 2, 1984

After Coach is talked into buying a fortune-telling scale for the bar, Carla believes it can predict the future.

Quote from Sam

Diane: Who's talking now? Oh, it's just my employer. [Sam kicks the scale] Sam, we got a fortune.
Sam: So?
Diane: Aren't you going to read it?
Sam: No. What's the point?
Diane: Sam, our destiny may be in that card. I know it. I can feel it.
Sam: You're crackers. You know that?
Diane: Then read it.
Sam: OK. Fine. You sure we should do this?
Diane: We've got to. There might be no other way.
Sam: All right. "Machine empty. Order more fortunes today."

Quote from Carla

Greg: Hey, I hope there's nothing to this because mine was bad.
Coach: Oh, what was it?
Greg: It said, "Your valuables are in jeopardy." or something like that. Here, I'll show it to you. It's in my wallet. Somebody lifted my wallet. [Carla screams]
Coach: Carla, will you please take it easy? He'll owe you the tip.
[Norm and Cliff hum the theme from The Twilight Zone]
Cliff: Yeah, well, how do you explain that, Sammy?
Greg: I found it. Here it is.
Coach: Well, what do you say about that, now, Carla?
Carla: It makes no difference. The machine has been right up until now. I say it's evil, evil, evil. It heard me. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Forgive me.
